Guest blogger, once more.... JC! ^.^

>> Friday, March 28, 2008

Heyya folks, I've once again been generously welcomed to pen a blog entry by the host, dearest Jin Siang. =) Noting the fact in which I've hardly ever refused to give Jin a hand, here I am typing away briskly for my first solo entry on jinsiang.com. Haha!

Well, last week was certainly a busy working week for everyone. But as we approached the weekend, we were all too eager to enjoy some "relax time" and just chill out doing nothing-what-so-ever. On Friday evening, I offered to send Jin to KL Sentral as he had to catch his bus ride to LCCT for his 8.45pm flight to Penang. Jin's previous blog has covered as to why he took off to Penang... if you want to know more, please scroll down for further details.

This may still be Jin's blog, but with him away...hey, life goes on!! Muahaha... ;-p Anyway, Saturday started off on a brighter circumstance for me (I was suffering from a throbbing headache the night before) and I was greeted with a text message from Gajana. That kinda spurred my spontaneous reaction to ask her out to chill together. We headed to Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas cuz we rarely ever go there.. a change of environment might do us good.

We spent some time window shopping but nothing pleased our eyes. Oh well, less money flowing out then! LoL. Later, we decided to have dinner at Paddington House of Pancakes and gave Angie a ring to join us there. The great characteristic about Gie is.. she's a spontaneous person, just like me! And in a jiffy, she arrived to bequeath us the pleasure of her company. We ended up sharing amongst us a few selection from the numerous dishes they offered. The dessert we chose was AWESOME!! Absolutely heavenly.... *sigh*

Here's Gaj at Paddington Pancakes

The yummy-licious Choc, Banana Mini Pancakes with Peanut Butter

Post dinner, Gaj and I decided to treat ourselves to a spa treatment. Okay, okay...more like I wanted to give this "fish spa" thingy a try and insisted on her tagging along. Haha. For the benefit of those who are not familiar, "fish spa" is a new spa experience that's slowly mushrooming around KL. I've only started hearing about it close to a month ago and already I've come across 3 outlets offering similar service albeit different establishment. Basically, the fishes are called Garra Rufa and they originated from a hot spring near Kangal in Turkey. Apprently, they are also called ‘Doctor Fish' as it was discovered to have healing ability. What happens is...the fishes actually nibbles away scaly and dead skin, thus leaving one's skin smooth and so claimed "glowing". I can imagine what you might be thinking.. are they some sort of Piranha fishes?? Only one way to find out... go experience it for myself. =) Conclusion: Ticklish sensation in the begining... but worth an experience. I would recommend this... Too bad Jin wasn't around to experience this with us!

Gaj & I feeding our feet to the lil fishies!!

Look at the swarm of fishies going at my feet... they must really taste good! LoL...

Before I wrap up, what do you guys out there think of my blog? If you like it, please let the host know about it! Hahahah... FYI: I usually co-blog as guest writer with Gie...but since she's away in Bangalore, India (miss her alot...) with Samantha, I guess I'll just do the honours to post some updates on her behalf...Hmm, I think pictures tell a million words...hence, voila! ;-)

Angie getting herself fitted in a saree. Nice!

Samantha & Angie... Look at the amount of materials they had to choose from. Gosh!

Till my next guest feature.... Muaks! ~ JC~

Olivia Thai - The Next Marie Digby???

>> Tuesday, March 25, 2008

I am very sure everyone has heard of Marie Digby - the singer that is best known for her acoustic cover version of Rihanna's No. 1 hit "Umbrella", which attracted attention on YouTube in 2007. Just in case you haven't and you don't know who she is, take a look at this video below then.

I have been a fan of hers ever since then and check out every cover that she does... my all-time favourite - Britney Spears' Gimme More... It's just soooo brilliant and to be frank, she sings a lot better than Britney who happens to be my idol too!

On a lighter note, I have absolutely no clue how I came to find this another YouTube singer, who I like a lot as well... Her name is Olivia Thai... a pretty Chinese girl from somewhere in the US!! She really does us proud, man! Check these videos out and let me know what you think of her! =)

No One (Alicia Keys)

With You (Chris Brown)

Don't you think she can really sing???

Till my next post!

Cheers.

Where Have I Been To????

>> Monday, March 24, 2008

I missed both of you! Amy & Hai Tak!

A lot of people asked me where I have been to and what I have been so busy with due to the fact that my blog was dead, again!! Oh well, mark my words now that it will no longer be dead anymore because I will try my best to ensure it will be updated at least twice a week from now onwards. Doubt if I can do it? Just wait and see!

To answer the questions earlier: I just came back from Penang and have been busy partying, scouting for houses (I have finally bought a house - stay tuned for my update about this), working (yawn)... and that's about it! Ha ha ...

Talking about my Penang trip, this blogpost also serves as a reminder to me about how lucky I have been in my life to have such good buddies that are so helpful, supportive, caring, and etc... I really cherish our friendships and every moment that we have spent together. Thanks for everything, my friends!

I decided to use the travel vouchers given during the PC Fair when my sister bought her laptop and honestly speaking, it is really cheap to go everywhere in Malaysia now with Air Asia. It just cost me about RM200 to go to Penang this time around and it is actually even much cheaper than driving to Penang from KL. Most importantly, it saves you so much time travelling (approximately 45 mins)! It will take you about 5 hours to go to Penang by bus and 4 hours if you are driving from KL.

The main objectives of this trip back to my beloved place, Penang, were 1. To pay a visit to Hai Tak's new house (It is a nicely-decorated house and I love it!) 2. To catch up with my buddies - Hai Tak and Amy

Everyone back in Penang kept saying that I've gained a lot of weight and looked really chubby now compared to last time. Tracking back my blog, you might have read about how everyone passed down the comments that I put on weight after I started working. If you haven't, here is the blogpost. *Sigh* What can I say? Time to work out, Jin Siang!!!

WTH! I can't even see my own freaking small eyes!!! >_<

We had a good dinner at Seoul Garden around Persiaran Gurney and the food there was kinda nice. A must-try restaurant in Penang if you happen to be Korean food lover.

Also, there is this another fantastic restaurant on a hill that we went to called Bukit Genting Hill . The scenes there are really awesometastic and stunning while the food was not bad at all. I highly recommend those who will be going to Penang to give this a try, especially if you like spicy and hot food!!!

Something even more interesting about this trip? Well, I missed the flight back to KL on this morning. It was at 8:10 a.m. and I arrived at the airport at 8 a.m. - ain't I just amazing! It ended up I had to go back to KL by bus which cost me RM40 and the long journey really killed me. You may want to know the reasons I missed the flight - Alarm went wrong and the heavy traffic jam on the way to the airport in the morning.

It's always easy to use these reasons as the excuses but I suppose I really need to learn how to be much more responsible and have the sense of urgency in doing everything - I could have waken up much earlier and Arggh... Lesson learnt!!!

Backstreet Boys Unbreakable World Tour 2008 in Malaysia

>> Sunday, March 2, 2008

Well.. I have never been a die-hard fan of Backstreet Boys but I have to admit that some of their old songs are pretty good such as I Never Break Your Heart, As Long As You Love Me, I Want It That Way, Quit Playing Games With My Heart, etc. Listening to these songs will somehow remind me a lot about my high school life as I still remember how crazy the girls in my school were for them. I reckon that the decision of Kevin Richardson to leave the group last year would have broken many of their hearts as well.

*Pardon my randomness* This is the song that is playing in mind as I am writing this blog and I REALLY love this song as it brings back a lot of memories to me..

Anyway, thanks to Angie's impromptu decision *ahem*, Jasvin, Shin Ying (my younger sister), and myself had the chance to catch them live in their world tour concert in Malaysia at Sunway Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. The first question that came to my mind when I knew about the location of the concert was: Where the hell is the proper venue? Did they choose that place to have their concert out of no choice or they wanted to cut some costs and chose some venues that are cheaper as opposed to the conventional indoor stadiums?

However, when I got to know about the price of ticket, I kinda understood the reason for the choice of that venue. LOL. The ticket cost about RM 88 and it was really the cheapest concert that I have ever been to!

Backstreet Boys' Unbreakable Tour Ticket

Just when we were all so excited about the concert, it was raining so heavily barely an hour before the concert was due to start that I started to think that the concert would have to be cancelled by any time because of it. Surprisingly, the rain finally stopped and there we were, joining the rest of the 10,000 audience waiting for the concert to start.

My sister was so happy to be able to see Backstreet Boys live in the concert

From Left To Right: Jasvin, Myself, and My sister

The concert was started with the song 'Larger Than Life' and the crowd went crazy as soon as they saw their favourite band. We were surrounded by all the girls who were screaming and shouting even before the concert started. Trust me, it was not funny at all to be in the middle of these ''Jiwang'' people because our ears were really suffering. Ha ha.. On the flip side, it was totally understandable for them to do so as I would have done the same thing as well if I got to see my favourite artists. The band really had the crowd eating out of their hands throughout the concert, in which they performed about 30 of their famous songs - from the 'I'll Never Break Your Heart' of their first album to ''Inconsolable'' from their latest album.

Performing 'Larger Than Life'

I would have to say that dynamic of the quartet has not changed at all and instead has improved as a matter of fact even though in the absence of its former member, Kevin. Each of the member of the group was given a chance to perform solo in the concert too and I personally think Nick's still the best. Nevertheless, AJ's performance really got the crowd going crazy because of his dance moves and the song was quite interesting. I had captured a few videos from the concert and I will post them here when I am not that lazy to transfer the videos from the phone. Ha ha..

The concert ended around 10:30 with my favourite song 'Shape Of My Heart' as the encore song. They only had one song for their encore but their awesometastic performance the whole nite was more than enough to placate the crowd. I was very satisfied with the concert and think it was amongst the best concerts that I have been to. Christina Aguilera's concert in Singapore cost me so much and it was so disappointing!

Oh.. by the way, I found this picture of the band when I was looking for some concert pictures and it was so hilarious because there's an extra pair of shoes in it. Was it Kevin's and they had to blank him out because the photo was taken before he decided to leave the band? I have no clue at all!! It is quite creepy for me and what do you think?

Peace out....
